Matt EllisMatthew Ellis

Matthew Ellis has had over 15 years experience, focused primarily in property and commercial matters, but also significant experience in wills and estates and litigation matters.

In particular, Matthew works primarily in the property law section of the firm, providing advice in relation to leasing, property development, conveyancing of both business and land, franchising and small business advice, and advice on general commercial law matters such as corporate compliance.

Matthew has particular interest in property development work, and has assisted clients ranging from small 2 or 3 lot subdivisions, to multi level mixed use developments comprising 100 or more apartments.  He is currently engaged in the Raine Square redevelopment, Eclipse Apartments in Burswood, and a number of other developments throughout Western Australia.

Matthew is the current solicitor to the Australian Institute of Conveyancers (WA Division) and the Business Brokers Association of Western Australia and routinely provides advice and services to members of the conveyancing and business broking industry as a result of this affiliation.  He also serves as a director on the board of Agricultural Land Management Pty Ltd, a listed responsible entity.

Gabriel WongGabriel Wong

Gabriel is an associate of MGB Legal in its commercial and property section.  He previously held the same position in MGB Legal’s predecessor firm, Hammond Worthington Lawyers. 

A commercial and property solicitor since 2001, Gabriel has experience in a wide range of commercial, corporate and property matters.  He regularly provides general commercial and business advice, including sales, acquisitions, leasing and due diligence, to a wide range of clients. He also has considerable experience in the areas of trust, wills and probate law.

Prior to joining Hammond Worthington, Gabriel worked in several well regarded law firms, including Norton & Smailes where he provided trusts and estate planning advice to their corporate clients.  He was also a solicitor with Lawrence Legal Solutions (now McDonald Pynt) where he provided commercial and property advice to its parent firm Lawrence Business Management and its clients.

Gabriel graduated from Curtin University of Technology with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1995.  He also graduated from Murdoch University with a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1999

Bogdan SoactarBogdan Soactar

Bogdan graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Laws Degree in 2005. Bogdan’s primary area of practice is criminal law and litigation but he has experience in a number of areas of law, including motor vehicle accidents, criminal injuries compensation applications, wills and estates and general legal advice.

Bogdan regularly appears in the various Magistrates Courts both local and regional (via video link) and the District Court. Bogdan has gained a considerable amount of court experience in the criminal field ranging from pleas in mitigation, spent conviction applications, driving offences and extraordinary driver’s licences, misconduct and violence restraining orders and assaults through to serious violence offences and drug matters.

Whilst completing his degree, Bogdan was employed by John Rando as a law clerk and he subsequently obtained articles with Kuscevich & Associates prior to joining Hammond Worthington in its litigation division

Bogdan speaks Romanian fluently and has a good grasp of Serbo-Croatian and other associated Slavic languages from the regions of the Former Yugoslavia.

DESIREE MARIE

Desiree is a Paralegal at MGB Legal and brings with her over 20 years experience as a legal secretary working in the areas of commercial, property and family law.

Desiree assists MGB Legal in the preparation of Wills and Leases, and drafting routine documents. Desiree also manages conveyancing (both sales and purchase) for vacant, commercial, industrial and residential properties, as well as business conveyancing. As a point of call for the WA Police Union, Desiree assists Police Union members in the preparation and understanding of their Wills and Enduring Powers of Attorney.
